Sadgrlonline
Sadgrlonline has SOO many resources for learning web development. I mainly used her template as a base for my own site, even in the code, she put in little tips to help teach where to put what and how to change different aspects of the design. Without this, I don't think I would've found the motivation to start.
To get better at HTML learning
- Neocities Tutorials, this is great to use if you have no idea where to start.
- W3Schools, has lots of tutorials and references for different bits of html, csss and even Java. this was my go-to whenever I was looking for help.
- Stack Overflow, is great when you have very specific issues, if I can't find the solution on w3schools, I usually find it here or in the Neocities subreddit.
Programming applications
- Visual Studio Code, the application I personnally used to make this website. it seems a bit intimidating at first, but ussing it has made this project way faster than I expected.
- Notepad++, this is a very barebones code editor, i started out with this and it's helpful for testing different code snippets and such.
On my site, I have used various images, gifs, and other media such as the header image, overlay and stamps, most of which aern't mine, I wasn't sure where to credit them all, so I'll list them here:
- My header is simply chiikawa, Hachiware and usagi from a valentines day illustration with the background removed, I do not own these characters and I do not claim them as my own. The original illustration was made by Nagano, the creator of Chiikawa.
- The stamps are from these two websites Adrian's Blinkie Collection and Gifcity. They both have a huge collection of stamps which I believe are free to use. I think it's worth checking out if you ever wish add them to your own site :P
Cursor!
As I said before, the website where i got the mouse from requires you to link the creds in every page u use it in so here's where i got this cute
Rakko cursor from!
the Rakko Cursor link hover icon too!!
Color palette & how I chose my colors
I usually like it when colors are uniform and not overly eyestraining, so I decided to pick some lighter pinks. BUT I'm horrible at choosing colors, so what I did was look for a good background color, then I put the hex code into "Colorspace" to find different color schemes to put on the site! VERY gelpful to me..
